Pariksha Pe Charcha Sets Guinness Record; Nation Celebrates

3 Mins read

In a record-breaking moment for India’s education history, the Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025 program has formally gone into the Guinness World Records as the most number of participant registrations in a month. With more than 3.53 crore students, parents, and teachers enrolling in the 8th edition of the program, the feat not only quantifies a record but also represents an increasing national movement towards stress-free learning and integrated education.
A Celebration Across the Nation
The news was greeted with nationwide jubilation. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was among the first to welcome the development, describing the recognition as a “matter of pride for the whole country.” CM Dhami in his statement praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his visionary vision and his ongoing efforts to develop a more open, compassionate, and inclusive academic environment for the youth of India.
This record is not about numbers,” Dhami said. “It’s a reflection of the emotional and intellectual affinity of our students and teachers with the Prime Minister’s vision for a pressure-free, improved education system. It’s a moment of pride for all Indians.”
What is Pariksha Pe Charcha?
Starting in 2018 by PM Narendra Modi, Pariksha Pe Charcha is an interactive yearly event through which the Prime Minister directly interacts with school students, parents, and teachers from all over the nation. The aim is to alleviate exam tension, promote good thinking, and provide techniques to handle study and social pressures.
Over the years, the initiative has grown into a flagship component of the broader ‘Exam Warriors’ movement — a nationwide effort to transform how India approaches education, success, and student well-being. PM Modi’s conversational style, relatable anecdotes, and real-life stories during the event have made it hugely popular with young people and parents alike.

Breaking Records with Purpose
The Guinness World Record for “Most Registrations for an Online Education Event in One Month” was awarded upon receiving more than 3.53 crore registrations within less than 30 days in the run-up to Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025. Students from schools in urban and rural India registered through the MyGov portal, answering quiz questions, essay writing, and putting forward questions to PM Modi.
Officials from Guinness World Records verified the numbers and praised the scale, coordination, and inclusivity of the campaign. The organizers ensured that students from remote regions, government schools, and tribal belts were also able to participate — ensuring representation from every corner of the country.

CM Dhami’s Commendation
Chief Minister Dhami emphasized the long-term significance of the achievement, noting that Uttarakhand’s students had shown particular enthusiasm in participating in the programme.
“Pariksha Pe Charcha has become a part of school culture in Uttarakhand. Teachers are using its message throughout the academic year, not just during exams,” Dhami said. “PM Modi’s message on turning exams into a celebration instead of a source of anxiety has resonated deeply with our youth.”
The CM also mentioned that the Uttarakhand government is working in alignment with the principles of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which shares the same student-first philosophy as Pariksha Pe Charcha.
Youth Engagement, The Modi Way
PM Modi’s ability to connect with Gen Z and young Millennials is often praised across party lines. During Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025, the Prime Minister touched on various relevant themes, including:
Time management techniques
Mental wellbeing and pressure of exam
Distraction due to social media
Self-discipline and routine
Coping up with peer pressure
Career plan beyond marks
One of the highlights from this year’s edition was when PM Modi advised students to “treat failure as a stepping stone, not a full stop,” drawing inspiration from his own school days and early political challenges.
Redesigning the Experience of Exam
Pariksha Pe Charcha is the exact opposite of India’s historic fixation on marks, rankings, and cramming. By generating a national conversation around exams, stress, and success, the event is gradually transforming parental expectations, school policies, and student attitudes.
Many schools in India this year conducted live screening sessions, post-event discussion, and even student feedback groups to ensure that the event’s learnings had a trickle-down effect on day-to-day learning experiences.

Besides, the incorporation of interactive material, essay writing, quizzes, and gamified learning within the MyGov platform has rendered participation both engaging and enjoyable.

With Pariksha Pe Charcha now officially a Guinness World Record holder, India has added yet another jewel to its educational crown. But more than the international acclaim, the greater triumph is that the event has been able to humanize the discourse on education in the country.
From tribal belts of Jharkhand to elite institutions in Delhi, students belonging to all sections of society can now perceive exams not as burdensome — but as a step towards growth.
